Offensive coordinator Buck Pierce and defensive assistant Richie Hall are being interviewed for higher positions with other teams, Pierce as the head coach of the B.C. Lions, Hall as defensive coordinator in Ottawa.
In addition, assistant general managers Danny McManus and Ted Goveia are interviewing for the GM job in Hamilton.
Some of these uncertain futures will have to be sorted out before the Bombers can dig deep into the players they hope to re-sign or pursue this off-season.
“You’re hesitant to have too much conversation with people who may not be in the organization next year,” GM Kyle Walters said on Tuesday. “So it’s just been me and Mike in this moment huddled together and talking about next year.”
Pierce had a similar opportunity at this time last year, one of two finalists for the head coaching job in Saskatchewan.

Before the Riders made their decision, he told them he was staying in Winnipeg.
In a conversation with the Winnipeg Sunat the time, he cited family reasons and the roots he’s put down in the Manitoba capital.
The lure of Vancouver may be more familiar: Pierce first broke into the CFL as a quarterback with the Lions.
Pierce is coming off a Grey Cup game in which he’s been second-guessed for not using star running back Brady Oliveira more, especially after quarterback Zach Collaros suffered a deep gash to his finger.
Collaros went back into the game and threw three fourth-quarter interceptions, turning a close game into a 41-24 Toronto rout.
Hall relinquished his defensive coordinator duties to Jordan Younger this past season, agreeing to stay on as an assistant for a defence that led the CFL in several categories.
As for his own assistants, Walters says both McManus and Goveia are more than qualified for his job.
“We’ve been together doing this 10 years, from where we were not very good to going to Grey Cup five times in a row,” Walters said. “It’s nonsensical to me how they don’t have GM jobs already, to be honest.”
