The boil advisory occupies a portion of west Toledo near Franklin Park Mall.
TOLEDO, Ohio — UPDATE:The boil advisory was lifted on Thursday at 8 a.m., the city said.

Thecity of Toledo issued a boil advisory Wednesday affecting more than 4,000 water customers.
According to a press release, beginning at 11:15 a.m., a boil advisory is in effect for any water customers in the area bounded by the following:
- North of Monroe St. from Willis Blvd to Talmadge Rd.
- East of Talmadge Road from Monroe St. to The Ohio/Michigan border
- West of Willis Blvd from Monroe St. to Quinton Ave.
- North of Quinton Ave. from Willis Blvd to Rambo Lane
- West of Rambo Lane from Quinton Ave. to the Ohio/Michigan border
According to an advisory alert from the city of Toledo Public Utilities Department, a repair or disruption to the water system prompted the advisory. Testing is underway, but there is no indication at this time the water system is contaminated.
The boil advisory was set to expire on April 6 at 5 p.m., after which residents can resume normal tap water use until notified that the advisory is extended.

During a boil advisory, it is recommended affected customers do the following:
Run cold water taps to flush lines, then boil water for drinking and cooking.
- Flush all taps used for drinking and cooking by running cold faucets for at least 3 minutes.
- Boil the water for 3 minutes and cool before using (or use bottled water). Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making formula, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food until this advisory expires. You may resume normal tap water use at that time unless notified that the advisory is extended.
- If your water appears discolored, avoid washing clothes or using the hot water taps until you have run the cold water faucets and the water clears.
